Carbonated water in the office, restaurant or at home

Carbonated water or bubble water as it is also often called is ordinary water, but which contains carbonic acid which does not still water does. Carbonic acid is a weak acid and an aqueous solution of carbon dioxide. Today it is common to drink water containing carbonic acid in the office, restaurants and conference facilities or homes.

In short, the bubble water can be drunk a little everywhere today and it is becoming increasingly common that the carbonated water is offered as an almost as obvious alternative as still chilled water or hot water, which is also usually offered for those who like to drink tea. There are of course many myths surrounding the carbonated water and many believe that it is actually not at all very healthy to drink water containing carbonic acid. But what's true, really?

Can the carbonic acid corrode the teeth?
The carbonic acid is an acid, which makes many people think that the teeth will start to corrode if you drink carbonated water often, but that is not true. The carbonic acid is an acid, however, a very weak one which means that it is not possible that the teeth would begin to corrode the carbonic acid. However, it is true that the teeth can feel bad from other beverages containing carbonic acid such as various soft drinks because they contain a lot of sugar, but not because of the carbonic acid itself.

Is it better to have still water?
That ordinary still water is better than carbonated water is something many people think, but really there is little difference. The only difference is that water containing carbonic acid contains a little more air than still water, which means that you may need to drink a little more of the carbonated water to get the same amount.

Should children drink carbonated water?
Children can drink carbonated water without problems as long as they like the taste and are not under two years old. It can in many cases even be recommended instead of drinking drink containing sugar.

Making carbonated water at home is today very common and it is therefore not at all unusual that there is a soda streamer in people's kitchens. Many also choose to acquire a water dispenser, which is not difficult to install at all and does not take up much space. You then get perfect, filtered, chilled and carbonated water right out of your kitchen faucet, it can't be easier.

Most water dispensers also use filtered water, which means that there is a carbon filtration on incoming water that will make the water taste better and carbonation will also work better and that the water stays cold. The benefits of bubble water at home are many.

Carbonated water since 1770
It is said that the chemistry professor Torbern Bergman in Uppsala was the first to produce carbonated water artificially, this was already in 1770. A few years later, one that he learned to have started with the production of just carbonated water in Falun. In 1800 another chemist named Jöns Jakob Berzelius came up with a new analysis on carbonated water. He had proved that carbonated water could be mixed with fruit juice and various spices, which eventually became what the soda is today.
